{"id":2611,"date":"2022-03-09T09:54:38","date_gmt":"2022-03-09T09:54:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elastik.com\/?p=2611"},"modified":"2022-03-14T14:18:31","modified_gmt":"2022-03-14T14:18:31","slug":"elastik-launches-in-the-uk-march-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elastik.com\/en\/elastik-launches-in-the-uk-march-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Elastik launches in the UK: March 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elastik launches to help schools tackle critical learning gaps across the UK <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elastik will launch with over 100 UK schools and Multi Academy Trusts to address learning gaps created by the pandemic and inequalities in learning<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Insight from Elastik could be used to directly support teachers in the UK\u2019s 55 educational \u2018cold spots\u2019 and the National Tutoring Programme as part of Government\u2019s \u2018Levelling Up\u2019 agenda<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Schools working with Elastik can complete a comprehensive analysis of student learning gaps in under two weeks<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>March 9th, 2022:<\/b> <a href=\"https:\/\/elastik.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elastik<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the pioneering analytics and assessment platform for schools, is launching in the UK to help schools and teachers urgently address gaps in learning that have been created or exacerbated by the pandemic.\u00a0 Designed by teachers, for teachers, Elastik maps student performance data against the national curriculum, so that teachers can quickly and easily pinpoint individual and class-wide learning needs.\u00a0 Elastik initially launched to help schools identify learning gaps in Western Australia in late 2020 and will now start working with over 100 schools and Multi Academy Trusts including the Astrea Academy Trust which has schools in South Yorkshire and Cambridgeshire.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Between March 2020 and April 2021, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lse.ac.uk\/News\/Latest-news-from-LSE\/2021\/g-July-21\/Pupils-lost-a-third-of-learning-time-during-pandemic-year\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">students across the UK<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> missed on average over half a year of normal, in-person schooling. Ofsted reports <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/education-recovery-in-schools-autumn-2021\/education-recovery-in-schools-autumn-2021\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">significant delays<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in educational development as a result of remote learning, with Year 1 and Year 2 pupils falling behind in topics such as phonics knowledge, number and symbol recognition, and number bonds. The<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/educationhub.blog.gov.uk\/2022\/02\/01\/how-we-are-levelling-up-education-all-over-the-country\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Department for Education<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has identified 55 \u2018cold spots\u2019 where education outcome is the weakest to target intensive investment. Bridging the learning gap in areas like these will be one of the key focuses of the Government\u2019s \u2018Levelling Up\u2019 policy. Teachers know that subjects missed, particularly at early stages, can fundamentally undermine teaching in later years where those topics need to be built upon.\u00a0 However, identifying precise gaps can be difficult and extremely time consuming to address accurately. With more than a quarter of teachers in England working more than 59 hours per week, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasuwt.org.uk\/article-listing\/covid-impacts-on-teacher-mental-health-exposed.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">record stress levels<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are being recorded.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elastik is a custom-built, software platform for schools, which uses the school\u2019s historic data or data from new assessments\u00a0 to provide accurate student learning insights as well as automating time consuming administration for teachers.\u00a0 Its proprietary analytics technology can identify student learning gaps from assessment data in under two weeks and map this to curriculum requirements at a granular level.\u00a0 From these insights, Elastik can develop detailed individual and class lesson plans for teachers to use as appropriate, delivering focus on areas that need addressing and saving essential time for teachers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Jeremy Waters, Founder of Elastik<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, says: \u201cAs a former teacher, I understand all too well the simultaneous pressures and privileges of teaching.
