Single Sign On (SSO) – Getting Started

1 min read

This guide will walk you through setting up Microsoft Single Sign-On (SSO) for your school, so staff and students can log in using their existing Microsoft accounts.

What is Single Sign-On? #

Single Sign-On (SSO) means your teachers and students can log into Elastik using the same Microsoft account they already use at school — no extra passwords needed. Elastik connects securely to Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory).

Before You Begin: Readiness Checklist #

Please confirm all of the following before contacting Elastik to set up SSO:

  • Your school uses Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory).
  • Your school’s IT administrator can approve third-party applications in Microsoft Entra.
  • If your accounts are managed by a Department of Education or central IT authority, you have approval from them to set up SSO.
  • Both teachers and students have school-issued email addresses (e.g. name@schoolname.edu).
  • You can provide one test Teacher account and one test Student account so we can verify login once setup is complete.

Setting Up SSO #

Once you’ve confirmed the above, fill in the SSO request form to get started. An Elastik team member will be in touch once your request has been received.

If your school uses Wonde #

  1. We’ll send a connection request to you through the Wonde portal within 2 working days.
  2. Log into your Wonde portal. On the Dashboard, go to the Applications page and find Elastik under “Pending approval”.
  3. Click on the Elastik application, then go to Permissions and review the requested access.

  4. Click Approve Access. A confirmation email will be sent to your school and to us, and we will be able to start your SSO configuration.

If your school does not use Wonde #

  1. We’ll send an email to you once we have processed your request.
  2. Log into the Elastik platform and go to Admin → Data Upload → Upload Class Lists. Download the Class List Template.
  3. Fill in the template with your students’ details: Unique ID (if available), First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, and Email Address.
  4. Return to Admin → Data Upload → Upload Class Lists, and upload your completed file to securely share your data with us.

Logging in with SSO #

Once we’ve reviewed your data, we’ll email you to confirm that your SSO has been enabled. After this, you can:

  1. Go to the Elastik login page
  2. Click “Continue with Microsoft”
  3. Sign in with a staff or student Microsoft account
  4. If login completes — you’re all set!

If login is blocked or you see a message requesting admin approval, your IT administrator may need to complete an additional step.
