Writemark Workflow

2 min read

With Writemark your first step is to decide on which prompt to use, whether that is one of the pre-created ones or one you made yourself. For assistance creating a new task, click HERE. Tasks can either be narrative or persuasive and are marked against slightly different rubrics. Once you know which task you want to use, create a new Writemark activity, pick your task and assign it to all relevant classrooms. During the activity creation process you will be asked whether the activity is a handwritten or typed submission, depending on which option you pick will have the workflow diverge from here.

Handwritten Submission

When selecting handwritten submission, you will be offered the option to download/print our Writemark template (Strongly recommended) for your students to use. Once all students have completed their handwriting submission, you will then need to scan their work so you have it as a file on your computer then you can upload those files to the Writemark activity. For assistance with the uploading and matching process, please click HERE. Finally, once your students work has been successfully uploaded, matched and marked you are given the option to review the proposed marks and make any adjustments you see fit before releasing the marks to your students.

Typed Submission

When selecting typed submission the activity is simply assigned to all students that you selected during the activity creation process. In order to complete the activity, students will simply need to LOG IN to the platform, select the relevant Writemark activity then type their writing piece. They are able to save their progress and return to the activity as many times as they like and once they are finished the student will simply need to click “Submit”. Once the activity has been submitted, it will be marked by the Writemark AI and initial scores will be given for you to review and make adjustments as you deem fit. Once you are happy with the marks, you can confirm them and release the marks to the students.
